Engagement Session at the Ohio State House

Love and History: Elexis and Dave's Ohio State House Engagement Adventure in Columbus, Ohio.  

Picture this: it's the middle of winter, and love is in the air. Elexis and Dave, this adorable couple, were on the hunt for a spot that screamed elegance and charm for their engagement photos. So, where did we end up? None other than the stunning Ohio Statehouse! With its timeless architecture and cool lighting, it was the perfect fit. Plus, we even snagged some shots outside with the sunset - talk about magical!  Overall, this place is a photographers dream with so many nooks and crannies as well as unique perspectives.   

Now, let's chat about the Ohio Statehouse itself. Did you know it took a whopping 22 years to finish building?  It's very timeless with it's  Greek Revival style, those fancy columns, and that grand rotunda. This place has seen some history with governors taking office to heated debates and protests, this place has stories for days.

Oh, and before I forget, let me fill you in on the logistics. It's not hard to reserve the Statehouse for a photoshoot, just a cool $50. Pro tip: swing by on a weekend and park in the underground garage to avoid the crowds. Trust me, it's worth it for that perfect shot.

As we wrapped up the session, I couldn't help but feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Capturing Elexis and Dave's love against the backdrop of the Ohio Statehouse was truly special. It's moments like these that remind me why I love what I do.
